Writing different essay types can be a rewarding and an interesting experience, but it can turn out to be a complicated task to accomplish. More than other essay types, descriptive essays should create a vivid and deeply involved experience for you reader. To achieve this, you should use detailed descriptions and observations.

Your description should be detailed and vivid enough to help your readers create a clear picture of what is being written about.

When you get down to writing a descriptive essay, start with the obvious. Here are some things to be considered when writing a descriptive essay:

• Identify the subject you want to describe. It can be a person, a place, an experience, an object, feelings, etc.
• Before you start actual writing of your essay, answer the following question: What do you want your reader to feel when reading your essay? Once you have a clear answer, start writing your work.
• Your subject can be either ordinary or extraordinary. The important thing is to make your descriptive essay interesting and unusual. Show your creativeness.
• You may use different approaches to this task. Use vivid language, striking examples, or unusual comparison.
• If you have finished writing your essay, do not hurry. Proofread and edit your descriptive essay. Use the question below to check whether your descriptive essay is full enough:
- Did you provide enough descriptions and details?
- Did you write down all important details?
- Did you organize your paragraphs logically?
