Descriptive essay. The aim of the descriptive essays is to provide the reader with the detailed description of some object, which a writer of the descriptive essay has chosen for the subject of it. He or she should do their best to make the reader imagine the whole picture.
Argumentative essay. The aim of the argumentative essay is to choose some controversial statement and to comment upon it, supporting this or that opinion with the evidences from the previous investigations, made in this sphere.
Persuasive essay. The aim of the persuasive essay is to convince the reader in the opinion of the writer as for the subject of the persuasive essay. You should remember that alongside with providing the opinions of some other scholars, the writer of the persuasive essay should stand only for his or her point of view.
Compare and contrast essay. It is quite clear that the aim of the compare and contrast essay is to compare and contrast the subjects respectively. In this case you should be very attentive with the choice of the subject, so that you will be able to realize the main aim of this essay type.
