Essay Types

If you study at college or university, then you should be familiar with different essay types, which are written during studies at such educational establishments. The quantity of essay types is not so small and range of essay types permits to demonstrate students’ writing skills from many sides. Among essay types, the most popular are classification essays, analytical essays, compare-contrast essays, evaluation essays, argumentative or persuasive essays, illustration essays, descriptive essays, expository essays. Among more complicated essay types it is possible to distinguish philosophy essays and reflective essays, because writing of such types of essay require highly developed writing skills and creative way of thinking. Those, who have analytical way of thinking, will have difficulties with philosophy essays for example, because philosophy is a science, which is not based on exact realities.
The structure of the majority of essay types is the same. Many essays consist of the introduction, which can be also called as essay thesis. Then we write main body and conclusion. The first part contains the theme and the idea of essay; it tells what the present essay is about. The main body presents the subject of the essay from one point of view or from several points of view. As for conclusion, it usually contains personal reflections, opinions and thoughts, which author of essay expresses. There are also some essays, which don’t require expression of personal opinions. Some essays are not difficult, while others are rather difficult, because they require developed writing skills. Some students have these skills, while other should look for other ways to fulfill such task as essay writing.
