Students of colleges and universities know that he quantity of essay types is rather big and it is really so. There are many essay types and all of them have both similarities and differences. As for similarities, it is possible to say that similar features between all essay types are connected with essay structure. Almost all essays consist of the introduction, main body and the conclusion. The introduction presents the theme and the idea of the essay. The main body contains all necessary information, which explains the theme of the essay and discovers its peculiarities and important moments. Main body also contains arguments, which are present in almost every essay, because almost all essay types need certain arguments in order to prove something or deny something. As for conclusions, it is very clear. Conclusions contain results to which the author comes at the end of essay. This is the main similar feature of almost all essay types.
As for differences, this range is bigger. Differences are determined by essay types. If it is analytical essay, then essay is something like an analysis. If is it is a descriptive essay, essay is written in form of description. If it is reflective essay, it contains reflections not theory or facts. If it is philosophy essay, it has philosophical character, which means that essay is clear, structured and at the same time obscure and difficult for complete understanding. As you may see, different processes are presented in the same structure. In fact, if the theme is interesting, it is also interesting to write several essay types on the same theme. If it for sure that in spite of the same theme, the content will be different.
